Roni Mahler has inspired countless dancers through her teaching and mentorship
"From the 1st adult class with Roni at Cleveland Ballet I realized regardless of age, ability, or aspirations every student gets equal attention. She has an authentic background and shares that! We reconnected during Ballet Weeks in Tecate, Mexico and more recently with weekly Zoom lessons. At 81 I gratefully count on Roni's spot on corrections to keep me flexible, strong, and mentally engaged. Her new book release is another exciting accomplishment in Ms. Mahler's interesting life. I love it!"
— Anne Gordy, age 81, has studied with Roni since the 1980s
"She was the sweetest person I could ever meet and I really enjoyed seeing her watch us in classes. It shows how much she loves dance, and
that excites me! I'm so happy that I got a chance to talk to her."— Ella Pool, 14-year-old dance student
"I first fell in love with Roni’s teaching when I was a very young dancer studying at Topeka Ballet. Our director would play her albums and I was instantly transported and inspired. I knew that she studied with some of the most amazing ballet companies and schools in America, and I was so excited to learn more. My life in ballet never would have taken the turns it has without Roni’s influence. Lately, it’s been such a joy to read her book and join her Zoom ballet class. I’ve been magically transformed once again✨Thank you Roni for sharing your gifts "
— Maia Fitzpatrick, age 60, credits Roni's influence for 50 years
"Learning from Roni is a total joy for the body and mind because she conveys such a deep understanding of how ballet technique works and how it feels in the body. As an adult beginner, that's something I've found really hard to learn from open classes. Roni is a bottomless well of corrections that sound surprising--how can it possibly be the position of your pinky finger that's making you fall out of a step?--but start working like magic. I leave every class with at least one little piece of wisdom that improves my dancing instantly, along with a targeted approach to gradually building strength and coordination, which I've also seen pay off over time."
— Elizabeth, age 35, has trained with Roni for 2 years
